Admission Requirements

Applications are evaluated according to the general regulations of the Council of Higher Education (CoHE/YÖK) and the specific admission requirements set by the relevant academic programs. Additional program-specific requirements may also apply.

Thesis-Based Master’s Programs

Applicants to thesis-based master’s programs must:

• Hold a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 (53.33/100).
• If applying with an ALES score, obtain at least 55 in the relevant score type, or submit an equivalent GRE/GMAT score accepted by the University Senate (GRE new: 149, GRE old: 610, GMAT: 450).
• If the program requires an interview, aptitude test, or portfolio evaluation, score at least 60.
• Fulfill any additional program-specific requirements.

Non-Thesis Master’s Programs

Applicants to non-thesis master’s programs must:

• Hold a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 (53.33/100).
• If an interview is required, obtain at least 60 points.
• Fulfill any additional program-specific requirements.

Doctoral Programs

Applicants to doctoral programs must:

• Hold a bachelor’s or thesis-based master’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.00/4.00 (76.66/100).
• Applicants with a master’s degree must have at least 70 on ALES or an equivalent GRE/GMAT score accepted by the University Senate (GRE new: 152, GRE old: 675, GMAT: 500).
• Applicants with a bachelor’s degree must have at least 80 on ALES or an equivalent GRE/GMAT score accepted by the University Senate (GRE new: 156, GRE old: 720, GMAT: 580).
• Meet the foreign language requirement by scoring at least 55 on an ÖSYM foreign language exam, YÖKDİL, or an internationally recognized exam accepted by ÖSYM (TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic, CPE/CAE). TOEFL Home Edition is not accepted.
• If the program requires an interview, aptitude test, or portfolio evaluation, score at least 60.
• Fulfill any additional program-specific requirements.

Invalid Applications

Applications that do not meet the minimum requirements will be considered invalid.

Blue Card Holders

Blue Card holders may apply using only one nationality.

Tuition fees are updated every semester in accordance with the decision of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Information about the fees is announced on the Graduate School’s website within the date ranges specified in the academic calendar.

• Passport Copy (Pages showing identity information, visa details, and validity dates must be clearly visible.)
• Certificate of Recognition (YÖK Recognition Document) (Barcode document obtained from the Turkish Council of Higher Education – YÖK)
• Turkish Language Proficiency Certificate Minimum B2 level

🎓 Thesis Master’s Programs

International applicants must submit:

The ranking of candidates will be determined from the highest to the lowest score. In the event of a tie in scores, priority will be given to the candidate with a higher undergraduate GPA. If a tie still exists, the younger candidate will be given priority.

Candidates who qualify for the interview will have their interview information and application results announced on the Institute’s website at http://lee.eskisehir.edu.tr under the “Announcements” section. Candidates who are eligible for registration must complete their registration within the announced registration period. During registration, the documents submitted in the application will be reviewed, and additional documents may be requested if deemed necessary. If no document request is made during the evaluation period, no documents need to be submitted to the Institute.

All documents uploaded to the application system must also be submitted in person to the Graduate School (LEE).

International students are required to submit these documents in person as well.

For programs that require an interview, admitted candidates may need to attend a face-to-face or online interview.

Annual Tuition Fee: 19,727.00 TRY

Students are required to pay their tuition fee/contribution via Ziraat Bank internet banking, mobile banking application, or Ziraat Bank ATMs.

To pay via Ziraat Bank ATMs, please follow these steps:

• When you see TCKNO/STUDENT NO (TCKNO/ÖĞRENCİ NO), enter your Turkish ID number or YU student ID number and press Enter.

Non-Thesis Master’s Programs

• Bachelor’s Degree: Original diploma or graduation certificate along with a notarized/consulate-approved Turkish translation.
• Transcript: Original transcript with a notarized/consulate-approved Turkish translation. (Graduation date must be indicated)
• Passport: Copy of passport showing personal information, visa, and validity dates.
• Recognition Document: Diploma equivalence / school recognition certificate issued by YÖK (including barcode).
• Foreign Language Proficiency: Minimum “B2” level Turkish Proficiency Certificate.

Thesis-Based Master’s Programs

• Foreign Language Proficiency: Minimum “B2” level Turkish Proficiency Certificate.

Doctoral Programs

• Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree: Original diplomas or graduation certificates with notarized/consulate-approved Turkish translations.
• Transcripts: Original transcripts of both bachelor’s and master’s degrees with notarized/consulate-approved Turkish translations. (Graduation dates must be indicated)
• Passport: Copy of passport showing personal information, visa, and validity dates.
• ALES / Exam Results: ALES Result Certificate*
• Recognition Document: Diploma equivalence / school recognition certificate issued by YÖK (including barcode).
• Foreign Language Proficiency: Minimum “C1” level Turkish Proficiency Certificate.
• Military Status Certificate: (if applicable, current)

*ALES requirement applies only if the program requires it.

For residence permit, the student must make an appointment via the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management website and apply to the Student Affairs Department with the relevant documents. The required documents are listed below:

• Residence permit registration/application form (signed in wet ink by the student)
• Passport or an equivalent document (original seen and verified)
• Document proving student status
• 4 biometric photographs
• Valid health insurance (either General Health Insurance (GSS) or private health insurance covering the residence permit period)
• Document showing the address where the student will reside:
  • If living in their own home, a copy of the title deed (for extension applications, a “residence certificate and utility bill” is sufficient)
  • If renting, a notarized copy of the rental contract
  • If staying in a hotel or similar accommodation, a document proving the stay
  • If staying in a student dormitory, a document proving dormitory residence
  • If staying with a supporter, a notarized declaration from the supporter (if the supporter is married, the spouse’s notarized declaration is also required)
• Receipt proving payment of the residence permit fee
• For foreign students under 18; those entering with visa exemption or a different type of visa: a document showing parent/guardian information (birth certificate, family record, etc.) and a consent form issued by the parent/guardian/legal representative (for students entering with the appropriate visa (student visa), the consent form and parent/guardian information documents are not required.

Fingerprints

If this is your first residence permit application, after submitting your documents to our office you must go to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management or the mobile Migration Unit on our campus to give your fingerprints.

Address Registration

If this is your first residence permit application, you must register your address within 20 days after receiving your Residence Permit Card.

If you move to a different address, you must report an address change within 20 days from the moving date.

The Academic Calendar, which includes course registration and other important dates, is announced at the beginning of each academic year on the website of the Student Affairs Department.
