Special Conditions
- Biostatistics Master’s Program
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Statistics and Computer Science, Medicine, or Mathematics (graduates of Mathematics are required to complete a Scientific Preparation Program).
Biostatistics PhD Program
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Anatomy or a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Dentistry, or Veterinary Medicine. - Medical Genetics Master’s Program
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Medical Biological Sciences, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Molecular Genetics, or Medicine. - Midwifery PhD Program
Applicants must have either:- A Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Midwifery, or
- A Master’s degree (with possible scientific preparation) in one of the following fields: Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing, Women’s Health Nursing, Public Health Nursing, Child Health and Diseases Nursing, Forensic Midwifery, Educational Sciences (Departments of Educational Sciences).
- Interdisciplinary Stem Cell Master’s Program
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Bioinformatics and Genetics, Biomedical Engineering.
Interdisciplinary Stem Cell PhD Program
Applicants must have either:- A Master’s degree in one of the following fields: Stem Cell, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Biology, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, Medical Biochemistry, Biochemistry, Medical Microbiology, Medical Pharmacology, Histology and Embryology, Medical Genetics, or Immunology,
- Or a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, or Pharmacy.
- Each applicant may apply to only one department and, if applicable, only one division within that
department for a thesis-based Master’s or PhD program.
However, an applicant may apply to one thesis-based program (Master’s or PhD) and one non-thesis Master’s program at the same time. - Applicants holding a non-thesis Master’s degree cannot apply to PhD programs, except for those who were enrolled in or graduated from a non-thesis Master’s program before 06 February 2013.
- Students currently enrolled in TUS (Medical Specialty Exam), DUS (Dentistry Specialty Exam), or EUS (Pharmacy Specialty Exam) programs cannot enroll in a PhD program simultaneously.
- Before submitting their application to the Institute, applicants must visit the relevant Department
Chair’s Office of the program they intend to apply to.
After receiving an academic introduction from the department, applicants may proceed to the Institute to complete their application.
1. Diploma or Graduation Certificate
- For MSc applications: The original Bachelor’s diploma or graduation certificate together with a notarized or consulate-approved Turkish translation.
- For PhD applications: The original Bachelor’s and Master’s diplomas or graduation certificates together with notarized or consulate-approved Turkish translations.
2. Transcript
- For Master’s applications: The original Bachelor’s transcript together with a notarized or consulate-approved Turkish translation.
- For PhD applications: The original Bachelor’s and Master’s transcripts together with notarized or consulate-approved Turkish translations.
3. Foreign Language Proficiency Certificate (Required for PhD Applications)
- For PhD programs, the following exams are accepted: YDS, e-YDS, YÖKDİL, TIPDİL (also valid for PhD programs in the fields of Medicine and Dentistry), as well as international English, German, and French language exams recognized by ÖSYM.
- If the foreign language exam was taken in Türkiye, it must have been conducted in buildings of public universities.
- For TOEFL scores obtained after 14 February 2014, only TOEFL iBT and PTE Academic are accepted.
- For YDS, e-YDS, YÖKDİL, TIPDİL, and international language exams recognized by ÖSYM, if no validity period is stated, the exam results are considered valid for 5 years from the date the results are announced.
- If a validity period is specified on the certificate, that date will be considered valid.
4. Passport-size Photograph: A recent passport-size photograph.
5. Identity Document or Passport: A valid identity card or passport.
6. Turkish Language Proficiency Certificate (If Available): A certificate proving at least C1 level Turkish proficiency issued by TÖMER.
7. Statement of Purpose: A letter of intent reflecting the applicant’s perspective on scientific developments and academic interests.
Applications must be submitted in person to the Graduate School of Health Sciences at or through a representative authorized by a notarized power of attorney.

After the application information and documents are reviewed by the Graduate School, the applications of candidates will be evaluated by the relevant Departmental Board (Department of Graduate Studies). The final approval will be granted by the decision of the Graduate School Administrative Board.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
TR-YÖS is an entrance examination for international students who wish to study at higher education institutions in Türkiye. Applicants may use their TR-YÖS results when applying for admission to Turkish universities.
To apply, you must be in your final year of high school or have already graduated.
TR-YÖS is administered in Turkish, German, French, Russian, and Arabic.
The exam is valid for two (2) years from the date of examination.
TR-YÖS is generally held twice a year, typically in April–May and
October. Any changes are announced in the official ÖSYM calendar. You are advised to

- Candidates who gain the right to enroll in programs where the medium of instruction is 100% or at least 30% English are subject to the provisions of the Eskişehir Osmangazi University School of Foreign Languages Foreign Language Teaching and Examination Directive.
- Candidates who gain the right to enroll in programs where the medium of instruction is Arabic are subject, during their preparatory education, to the provisions of the Eskişehir Osmangazi University Faculty of Theology Arabic Compulsory Preparatory Class Education and Examination Directive.
- Turkish language proficiency of international students is determined based on the results of the "Turkish Proficiency Exam" administered by ESOGÜ TÖMER or based on an official exam result certificate obtained from State Universities in Türkiye or Yunus Emre Institute.
At Eskişehir Osmangazi University (ESOGU), Turkish language preparatory courses are offered by the Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center (TÖMER).
Students Who Do Not Need a Turkish Language Certificate
If you meet one of the following conditions, you do not need to submit a Turkish proficiency certificate:
- You are enrolled in a program taught 100% in English,
- You completed your entire secondary education in Turkey at a high school affiliated with the Turkish Ministry of National Education,
- You completed your secondary education at a Turkish high school abroad affiliated
with one of the following institutions:
- Turkish Ministry of National Education
- Open Education High Schools (Overseas Programs)
- Turkish Maarif Foundation
- Turkish Diyanet Foundation
Students Who Need to Take Turkish Preparatory Courses
If your Turkish level is not sufficient, you must enroll in the Turkish preparatory program at ESOGU TÖMER.
- You are required to submit a student certificate showing that you are enrolled in TÖMER to the International Student Admission and Registration Coordination Office during the relevant semester and the following semesters.
- If you fail to submit this document or a C1-level Turkish proficiency certificate, your enrollment at the university may be terminated.
Students Who Completed Turkish Courses Before Enrollment
If you completed a Turkish language course before enrolling at ESOGU:
- You must submit your Turkish proficiency certificate to ESOGU TÖMER for equivalency evaluation.
- TÖMER will review your certificate and determine whether your Turkish level is sufficient.
- If your level is sufficient, you will be allowed to start your academic program.
- If it is not sufficient, you will be required to take the Turkish Placement Test organized by ESOGU TÖMER.
Turkish Language Levels
Turkish language proficiency is evaluated according to the European Language Portfolio (ELP) levels:

Students with A1–A2 Level Turkish
If your Turkish level is A1 or A2:
- You can complete your final registration at the university,
- However, you will be considered on leave for one year while attending the Turkish preparatory course,
- After successfully completing the course and achieving C1 level Turkish, you can begin your academic studies.

This form is available on the Graduate School website. - Turkish Language Proficiency Certificate (If Available)
A certificate issued by TÖMER proving at least C1 level Turkish proficiency.
Candidates who gain the right to enroll but do not have a C1 Turkish Proficiency Certificate must:- Enroll in the Turkish Preparatory Program at Turkish Language Teaching Center (TÖMER), and
- Submit the registration document to the Graduate School within the first four weeks following the start of classes.
Applicants who completed their previous degree in Türkiye are not required to submit a C1 certificate.
Candidates whose applications are accepted must obtain and submit a C1 Turkish Proficiency Certificate from the Turkish Language Teaching Center (TÖMER) within one year at the latest. Otherwise, their enrollment will be terminated.
Important Notes:
- A conditional registration will be made until the response to the Recognition Certificate requested from the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) is received.
- Students who complete their final registration must submit a residence permit for educational purposes issued by the Provincial Directorate of Security within one month at the latest.
- Candidates who are admitted or enrolled in another Master’s or PhD program will not be allowed to complete their final registration.
- Documents without the official stamp, signature, or approval of the relevant institution will not be accepted.

The annual tuition fee is 16,000 TL for graduate programs. Students are required to pay the tuition fee during the course registration period with their student ID number.

B. Prepare the Required Documents for Your Residence Permit Application
Required Documents:
- Residence permit application form (Pre-Registration Form) – the form in Section A
- Your passport
- Photocopy of the first page showing your identity information
- Photocopy of the page showing the entry stamp (your last entry date to Türkiye)
- You must bring the original passport with you
- If you have a residence card, bring a photocopy (even if expired)
- Student certificate: You must obtain a photo-attached, signed, and stamped student certificate from the student affairs office. Important: Student certificates are valid for 1 month.
- Biometric photos
- 3.5 x 4.5 cm, white background
- First-time application: 4 photos
- Extension/transfer applications: 2 photos
- Valid health insurance
- General Health Insurance (GSS): Log in to e-Devlet and generate a barcode document from the SPAS Eligibility Inquiry page.
- Private health insurance: Bring printed copies of the first 5 pages.
- YTB scholarship holders: Generate a barcode document via e-Devlet from the SPAS Eligibility Inquiry page.
- Proof of address (submit one option that applies to you)
- For extensions: Certificate of Residence (Yerleşim Yeri Belgesi) from e-Devlet
- Staying in your own home: photocopy of the title deed (bring the original)
- Staying with a rental contract: notarized rental contract (all pages) + landlord's ID copy
- Staying in a dorm/aparthotel/private dorm: required supporting documents from the facility
- Staying in a KYK dormitory: document proving dormitory residence
- Staying in a hotel, etc.: document proving accommodation
- Staying with a sponsor/supporter: notarized undertaking + copy, and the supporter's certificate
of residence
- If the supporter is married, the spouse must also provide an undertaking.
Supporter: A person who declares and undertakes to cover all personal expenses (food, health, transportation, etc.) of the international student in Türkiye, and to ensure the student's departure upon visa/residence expiry. - Residence permit card fee receipt

- For both documents, you need originals, certified Turkish translations, and one photocopy each. If translation cannot be done in your country, it must be translated in Türkiye with notarization.
C. Document Submission
Residence procedures for international students who will complete their final registration are carried out by the universities.
After submitting an online application through the Directorate General of Migration Management's e-Residence system (e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr), students must submit the following documents to the Coordination Office within fifteen (15) days at the latest.
Fingerprints
If this is your first residence permit application, after submitting your documents to our office you must go to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management or the mobile Migration Unit on our campus to give your fingerprints.
Address Registration
- If this is your first residence permit application, you must register your address within 20 days after receiving your Residence Permit Card.
- If you move to a different address, you must report an address change within 20 days from the moving date.
