APPLICATION PROCESS

CASES WHERE THE APPLICATION IS VALID

Provided that they have graduated, applicants who wish to study at Eskişehir Osmangazi University within the scope of this directive may apply under the following conditions:

  1. Foreign nationals (on the condition that those who studied in secondary education [high school] institutions in Türkiye must have enrolled before the 2022–2023 academic year; excluding Embassy schools, international private educational institutions listed in the MOBİS system, and foreign nationals brought to our country within the framework of projects conducted by the Ministry of National Education).
  2. Those who were Turkish citizens by birth but lost their Turkish citizenship by obtaining permission for renunciation from the Ministry of Interior, and those who document that they hold a Blue Card granted upon request to persons who lost Turkish citizenship (provided that those who studied in secondary education [high school] institutions in Türkiye must have enrolled before the 2022–2023 academic year).
  3. Those who acquired Turkish citizenship later (naturalized citizens) and dual nationals in this situation (provided that those who studied in secondary education [high school] institutions in Türkiye must have enrolled before the 2022–2023 academic year).
  4. Turkish citizens who completed all of their secondary education (high school) in a foreign country other than the TRNC (including those who completed their entire secondary education [high school] in Turkish schools opened abroad under the Ministry of National Education).
  5. Citizens of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) who have GCE AL results, or TRNC citizens who completed all of their secondary education (high school) in a foreign country and have TR-YÖS results.
  6. Until 2026, applications of TRNC citizens, those who renounced Turkish citizenship/Blue Card holders, and foreign national candidates who studied or graduated from secondary education institutions in our country and who apply under overseas student admission quotas shall be accepted.

BLUE CARD

Individuals who were Turkish citizens by birth but received official permission from the Ministry of Interior to renounce Turkish citizenship, and their minor children registered in the renunciation document, may apply provided they document that they hold the “Certificate Regarding the Exercise of Recognized Rights” under the Turkish Citizenship Law (Law No. 5901).

Applicants are advised to review the Turkish Citizenship Law before applying.

Special Conditions

  • See 4. Students enrolled in this program are required to wear the professional attire mandated by the profession. At our institution, student uniforms are compulsory and consist of: Stable (indoor) attire: coveralls, sweatshirt, boots, cap, mask, and gloves; Outdoor riding attire: helmet, riding breeches, riding boots, and protective vest. The color and model are standardized. Procurement is the responsibility of the student. Instruction is provided seven days a week. Smoking and the use of mobile phones are prohibited on campus premises. Students complete the theoretical component of their studies at the Mahmudiye Vocational School building. Seventy percent (70%) of practical training is conducted at the Horse Care and Practice Facilities within the Vocational School and other institutions.

  • See 21. A compulsory one-year English Preparatory Program is implemented. Students who pass the English proficiency examination at the end of the program are directly enrolled in the first year. The English Preparatory Class is not included in the duration of study indicated in the program column. Students who: a) Document that they have achieved the required level in one of the nationally and/or internationally recognized foreign language examinations accepted by the University, or b) Pass the English proficiency examination administered by the University at the beginning of the academic year, will be admitted directly to the first year. The provisions of the “Regulation on the Principles to be Complied with in Foreign Language Education and Education in a Foreign Language in Higher Education Institutions” shall apply.

All documents must be scanned from their originals and uploaded to the application system. Documents that are not officially stamped and signed, photocopied documents, and documents sent by fax or e-mail will not be accepted. Applications submitted with incomplete documents will not be evaluated.

The following documents must be uploaded to the application system:

  • High School Diploma: The original secondary education (high school) diploma. If the diploma is not in Turkish or English, a certified Turkish or English translation approved by the Republic of Türkiye Embassies, Consulates, a Notary Public, or a sworn translator must be submitted.
  • Official Transcript: An officially approved transcript issued by the high school administration, showing all courses taken and grades received throughout secondary education.
  • Exam Result Certificate: Applicants must upload a valid exam result. SAT applicants must verify their score by logging into the SAT system during document submission.
  • Passport: A scanned color copy of a passport showing the nationality of the international student applicant, valid for at least six (6) months.
  • Photograph: A passport-size photograph (50 mm × 60 mm in size, taken against a plain white background, within the last 6 months).
  • Blue Card: Applicants holding a Blue Card must upload scanned color copies of both the front and back sides.
  • Full Civil Registration Record (Vukuatlı Nüfus Kayıt Örneği): For dual nationals or naturalized Turkish citizens.
  • GCE AL Result Certificate: Applicants who are TRNC nationals or dual nationals.

Applications are submitted through the online system, which is activated during the application period announced on the website of the International Student Admission and Registration Coordination Office.

Please follow official announcements for application calendar

  1. Applications for main placement are made using the exam scores specified in Table 1. If applying with SAT, score verification is required under coordinator supervision.
  2. A reserve list equivalent to 50% of the program quota will be created. Ranking is based on score superiority.
  3. Applications for vacant quotas are evaluated based on: a) Exam score (Table 1); b) University entrance exam (Table 3); c) National high school graduation exam; d) High school diploma grade.
  4. Placement for vacant quotas is made progressively based on the above criteria.
  5. For vacant quotas, a 50% reserve list will be created based on score superiority.
  6. Applicants must meet the minimum score requirement of the National Exams specified in Table 2.
  7. Applicants may apply to a maximum of 10 programs and may be placed in only one. No horizontal transfers are allowed.
  8. In case of equal exam scores: 1. Higher high school diploma grade, 2. Younger applicant, 3. Preference order, 4. More recent graduation.
  9. The number of students from the same country may not exceed 40% of the program quota for that period.
  10. The University Senate may impose nationality-based limitations.
  11. Applicants holding Blue Cards, dual nationals, etc., are subject to a 10% quota limitation for Medicine, Dentistry, Law, and Education Faculties.
  12. Document verification is conducted by the Admission Commission. Non-compliant applications will not be evaluated.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

TR-YÖS is an entrance examination for international students who wish to study at higher education institutions in Türkiye. Applicants may use their TR-YÖS results when applying for admission to Turkish universities.

To apply, you must be in your final year of high school or have already graduated.

TR-YÖS is administered in Turkish, German, French, Russian, and Arabic.

The exam is valid for two (2) years from the date of examination.

TR-YÖS is generally held twice a year, typically in April–May and October. Any changes are announced in the official ÖSYM calendar. You are advised to follow updates regularly:

  • Candidates who gain the right to enroll in programs where the medium of instruction is 100% or at least 30% English are subject to the provisions of the Eskişehir Osmangazi University School of Foreign Languages Foreign Language Teaching and Examination Directive.
  • Candidates who gain the right to enroll in programs where the medium of instruction is Arabic are subject, during their preparatory education, to the provisions of the Eskişehir Osmangazi University Faculty of Theology Arabic Compulsory Preparatory Class Education and Examination Directive.
  • Turkish language proficiency of international students is determined based on the results of the “Turkish Proficiency Exam” administered by ESOGÜ TÖMER or based on an official exam result certificate obtained from State Universities in Türkiye or Yunus Emre Institute.

At Eskişehir Osmangazi University (ESOGU), Turkish language preparatory courses are offered by the Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center (TÖMER).

Students Who Do Not Need a Turkish Language Certificate

If you meet one of the following conditions, your Turkish level will be considered sufficient:

  • You are enrolled in a program taught 100% in English.
  • You completed your entire secondary education in Turkey at a high school affiliated with the Turkish Ministry of National Education.
  • You completed your secondary education at a Turkish high school abroad affiliated with Turkish Ministry of National Education, Open Education High Schools, Turkish Maarif Foundation, or Turkish Diyanet Foundation.

Students Who Need to Take Turkish Preparatory Courses

If your Turkish level is not sufficient, you must enroll in the Turkish preparatory program at ESOGU TÖMER. You are required to submit a student certificate showing that you are enrolled in TÖMER. Failure to submit this or a C1-level Turkish proficiency certificate may result in enrollment termination.

Students Who Completed Turkish Courses Before Enrollment

If you completed a course before enrolling at ESOGU, submit your certificate for equivalency evaluation. If not sufficient, you will take the Turkish Placement Test.

Students with A1–A2 Level Turkish

You can complete your final registration but will be considered on leave for one year while attending the preparatory course. After achieving C1 level, you can begin academic studies.

  • Passport: Certified copy of passport valid for at least six (6) months.
  • Foreign Language Proficiency Certificate: If applicable for programs with a preparatory class.

If you are a scholarship student, obtain all relevant information from the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB).

A. Submit Your Online Application to the Presidency of Migration Management

  1. Complete the online application form (e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr).
  2. Online appointment.
  3. Download, print, and sign your Pre-Registration Form (4 pages).

B. Prepare the Required Documents

  1. Residence permit application form (Pre-Registration Form).
  2. Your passport (photocopies of ID page and entry stamp, original required).
  3. Student certificate (valid for 1 month).
  4. Biometric photos (4 for first-time, 2 for extension).
  5. Valid health insurance (GSS barcode, private insurance pages, or YTB barcode).
  6. Proof of address (Certificate of Residence, title deed, rental contract, dorm document, or sponsor undertaking).
  7. Residence permit card fee receipt (964 TL payment).
  8. UETS document (not required for first-time applicants).
  9. For students under 18: Apostilled Consent Letter and Birth Certificate.

C. Document Submission

After online application, submit the documents to the Coordination Office within fifteen (15) days.

Fingerprints: If this is your first residence permit application, you must go to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management or the mobile Migration Unit on our campus to give your fingerprints.

Address Registration:
• Register your address within 20 days after receiving your Residence Permit Card.
• Report any address changes within 20 days.
